Fruit Punch, Vintage Glass Button Necklace

The focal for this lively necklace is a vintage glass button. This came from a button shop in Bohemia that supplied buttons from Czechoslovakia during the 1930's-40's. This shop was seized and closed during the war, just recently I was able to acquire some of these beautiful buttons. It has bubbles in the glass all around the back that gives it lots of sparkle. The exact color is hard to capture. It is red with a slight orange undertone, very pretty!!

The button measures a little over 3/4" across. The length is 18" and can be customized to either 16" or 20".

These are gorgeous parts of history. The secrets they know and stories to tell. I feel a wonderful connection with the past when I hold one of these beauties.

Buttons and Cameos

I have been so busy lately that I have not had time to make any new jewelry. Yesterday I did manage to get two new earring styles posted in my Etsy shop. These sweet earrings feature very tiny cameos and a vintage faux pearl above.
This pressed glass button features a geometric design as it's focal. It is self shanked and I have set it in a brass filigree. The button is a wee one measuring 1/4" across I wonder what such a small button could have been used for.
